India is zwaar getroffen door corona en ook de ASHA-foundation heeft er mee te maken. Dr. Glory berichtte ons in juni het volgende:

“Yes it has been a horrific two months here in India . The second wave hit India like a Tsunami and had disastrous consequences. We had so many deaths. Things are better now, we are in lockdown for a month now . Many of our AIDS-patients also had Covid 19 and survived but  we lost about 3-4 patients to Covid as well.”

We hebben besloten een donatie te doen aan ASHA foundation zodat zij getroffen families kunnen ondersteunen met voedsel.

“Regarding Covid 19, it has impacted our programs . We have started a Covid 19 helpline for emotional and mental well being at ASHA Foundation. We are doing a lot of awareness programs for COVID 19 virtually for different groups of people as there is so much of myths and misconceptions of the infection.”

Stichting Kettingreactie heeft een donatie gedaan van 750 euro. Daarmee kan ASHA-foundation 20 families ondersteunen met basisvoorzieningen, voor periode van 3 maanden (van juli t/m september 2021).
